About the business
Sliprox started with a simple conviction that infrastructure can be made better, greener and more long-lasting.
Sliprox manufactures railway sleepers from recycled plastic. The company is based on development work that has been ongoing since 2016, with track tests with Inlandsbanan and Jernhusen among others, and certification tests at Technische Universität München. The reason we do this is quite simple. Wooden sleepers with creosote leak poison into the ground and are being phased out. Concrete sleepers cannot be replaced individually, so if one sleeper needs replacing it is often more cost-effective to replace the entire section. This leaves many track owners stuck with old wood and concrete sleepers with no reasonable alternative.
Our sleeper is designed to solve exactly that. It lasts over 50 years, withstands Nordic conditions and can be replaced one at a time in existing tracks. We build for the long term, with products that will last for many years to come, and we are proud to have contributed to developing an environmentally friendly alternative. The fact that our sleepers are also 100% recyclable after use we see as a good step towards a circular economy. Our long-term vision is to continue developing and converting more infrastructure and industrial products to circular alternatives, using what we have learned and the technologies and tests we have already completed.
The raw material is 100% recycled. No new plastic, no creosote, no special handling when the sleeper reaches end of life. That's how it should work.
The sleeper is certified for >50 years service life and 22.5 tonne axle load. Technical documentation is included with every delivery.
Material origin, place of manufacture and pricing are disclosed openly. No hidden costs or complex contractual structures.
